"Money grows on the tree of patience"

Many people tend to make way too many changes to their financial plans. They see something on TV, they hear something at a wedding dinner, they get an idea and they are off acting upon the latest stock rumor.

Remember ~ compound interest is your friend. Too many "get rich fast" schemes fail. Most people have heard of the tortoise and the hare story. The two completed in a race and everyone was convinced that the hare will win beacuse of his speed. However, the hare was overly-confident and took a nap in the middle of the race, thinking that he can easily make a final dash to the finish line. In the end, the tortoise who just plodded steadily along, reached the finish line before the hare and won the race.

The moral: Start saving early, save often and never stop.

In the coming new year, I wish all of you Good Health and Wealth in abundance! Enjoy!

Attending the "Insurance and Financial Practitioners Association of Singapore" Congress 2010

With Mr Marc Silverman at the "RETIRE HAPPY" workshop

One of the top financial pratitioner in Miami, specializes in retirement planning. He shared that most people spend more time planning for vacations and holidays than planning for their retirement. How true!

With my favourite speaker at the Congress

Bhupinder Anand, one of the top financial practitioner in UK, reminded us that we are like financial artists. We start with a piece of paper and create value. Over decades, the value grows. Amazing!

Updates 2010...

Dearest Clients and Friends,

Hope the start of the new year has been great for you!

One of the things that I set out to do this year is to get the general insurance license so that I can provide a wider scope of services to my clients. I am happy to share that I have passed the licensing requirements and is now able to provide travel, personal accident, motor and fire insurance. This will allow me to do my job more comprehensively.

The companies that I have an agreement to represent at the moment are HSBC Insurance and Tenet Insurance. For example, Tenet Insurance's comprehensive range of Personal Insurance products includes:
- PAStar and Personal Accident for accident protection
- TravelJoy for a worry-free holiday overseas
- HomeBliss a complete cover for the home
- MaidEase to protect both employer and domestic maid
- MediWell Plus and MediLite for a more complete hospitalisation cover
- Private Motor with a host of benefits from their appointed workshops

With these 2 insurers, I should have more than sufficient products to cover any insurance needs that may arise so do keep me in mind.

Let me end by wishing a fantastic rest of the year and see you soon!
